Weddings on a Cold Summers Day: What to Wear

Posted in Outfit by admin on the July 15th, 2009

Shawls are rather handy for all kinds of situations since they are easy to place in your handbag if you get too hot. The wool of the pashmina is a wonderful insulator, so instead of dragging around a heavy coat on a breezy summer or spring evening, a pashmina will serve as a convenient overgarment.

Shawls have now become rather popular as a wedding accessory at wedding ceremonies. The last couple of summertimes in Britain have been pretty awful, so perhaps this has encouraged this new movement. Cream-coloured pashminas, as well as white and gold are popular selections for weddings, and look wonderful if all the bridesmaids have a matching colour shawl.

If you order a larger size pashmina, it can also become a handy little blanket for lengthy trips. And of course, a pashmina can turn into a scarf for wintertime too.

There tends to be two main types of pashmina shawl - the 100% pashmina, and the 70% pashmina / 30% silk variety. The non-pure pashmina you can buy at cheaper prices than the 100% wool opposite number, but it will be less soft. It’s your choice as to what you want to use your pashmina shawl for. Is it strictly for fashion purposes, and/or also apparel keep you warm too? We advocate pure pashminas to keep you warm.
