Conflict in Jerusalem
From a letter sent to Jewish-American friends while I was living in Israel:
Oct. 20, 1991:
… I purposely went to [Jerusalem] to participate in the rally against Baker across from the American Consulate (in Independence Park). We were 2,000 strong according to the Jerusalem Post.
There were many placards - in Hebrew & English. I held one that read BUSH DESTROYING ISRAEL PEACE BY PEACE. Another one read GIVE TEXAS BACK TO MEXICO. And a funny drawing of an Indian chief sitting with Shamir saying “Let me talk to you about land for peace.”
The Arabs haven’t shown any sign of concessions or change in heart or attitude. At least Gorbachev let Eastern Europe go, Germany reunite, cut back his defenses, etc. Concrete actions, not just puny promises or hollow offers for peace. Israel’s simply getting backed into a corner where they’ll be made to look like the bad guys & the Arabs lovers of peace.
So I accomplished my goal of being in the demonstration against Israel’s dismemberment. My other goal was to visit and congratulate those Jewish “settlers” who recently made a daring move into Silwan (Shiloach) - the true City of David, presently occupied by hateful Palestinians.
I used to tell people I wanted to live there to restore our Jewish-Christian presence and they’d understandably laugh - because it’s practically suicidal and the place is basically an ugly dump. Though I have the vision of it one day being cleaned & green & beautiful with nice Jewish homes again.
Anyway, I found Silwan closed off by a heavy presence of police, soldiers & border patrol. They wouldn’t let me in. Then - by the grace of God or strange coincidence - as I was walking back up that steep street to the Dung Gate, I met one of the men who live in that now Jewish home & a Yeshiva student. They invited me to come with them when their ride showed up! Chief Inspector Terner was to visit the site so we could only stay a brief time because they said he’d be angry & make me and the Yeshiva student go.
They’ve placed barbed wire all around their “yard,” freshly tarred their roof, have an Israeli flag flying & are still clearing out all the junk the Arabs threw in there for the past 7 years. It was exciting to drive through that Palestinian village as they looked on. Earlier, being hot as usual, I started to roll down my window when they reminded me it’s better to be hot than get a stone in the face!
Instead of being angry at those Jews for living in homes they’ve legally bought - we should be angry & consider it provocative that those Arabs are so racist & hateful & want their neighborhood Judenrein!
I plan on visiting them again when I can stay longer - maybe even live with them as the student suggested…
Now I’ll revert back to Sukkot & the Temple Mount Faithful’s demonstration. I’ve marched with them twice to express solidarity & show support for the idea that Jews ought to be able - in a “Jewish” state - to pray on the Temple (not mosque) Mount. My perplexing question is how can we rid Israel of those Arabs who forfeit their right to live here (by their intifada actions or stabbings or murder) without hating all Arabs, lumping them all together in a prejudiced way, forgetting there must be at least a few good Arabs who could live here - under Jewish rule - in peace.
I do believe most Palestinians hate Israel and would kill every Jew. But where do we draw the line in our actions? Can we continue to not “sink to their level,” but instead get sunk 6 ft. below them (as Rabbi Kahana said)? Most of them are our avowed enemies & we wouldn’t be wise to show “the mercy of fools,” but… I prayed about it to reconcile everything with proper understanding. So many things are such a fine line…
I also was an arms-length away from Boris Pankin when he came down the stairs from the Jewish Quarter to visit the Wall & later the Temple Mount. That was a happy surprise…

COMING TO A CHURCH NEAR YOU
COMING TO A CHURCH NEAR YOU
By William Fisher
When Al Qaida’s Human Resources department brings new folks on board, we can assume 99.9% of them will be radical Islamists. Fine, we expect it.
When the Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan is out recruiting, Henry Kissinger or Joe Lieberman or Barbra Streisand are not his most promising targets. He’s looking for W.A.S.P.s. No surprise here.
And when Bob Jones University goes scouting for new blood, they’re not looking for Denzel Washington or Whoopi Goldberg. The Supreme Court ruled twenty years ago that the federal government could deny a religiously-run university tax benefits because the university imposed a racially discriminatory anti-miscegenation policy.
Frankly, I don’t really care who gets hired by these discredited and disgraceful outfits. At least, not until I’m asked to help pay their salaries.
And that’s what the U.S. House of Representatives is asking me - and you –to do.
Yesterday, 224 of our courageous representatives passed the first rollback of religious liberty since President Reagan he signed the Job Training Partnership Act back into law 1982.
In that year, Congress passed the original Job Training Partnership Act. It was sponsored by then Republican Senator (later vice-president) Dan Quayle, reported out of the Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee by then-chairman Republican Senator Orrin Hatch, and signed into law by Republican President Reagan.
Yesterday a different bunch of Republicans -joined by a lone Southern Democrat - decided in their infinite wisdom to scrap the civil rights protections contained in the Reagan version of the Act.
What they okayed was use of tax dollars to fund religious discrimination in hiring for government-funded jobs. So the House made it OK to demand that taxpayers help finance hiring policies that say Protestants-only or Muslims-only, or Catholics-only, or Jews-only, or, for that matter, whites or blacks or Asians-only.
Despite the aggressive opposition of a huge coalition of religious, civil rights, labor, educational, and other advocacy groups, President Bush pushed hard for passage as part of his Faith Based Initiative.
Reminds me of my childhood when signs at companies and newspaper want-ads blatantly announced “Jews and Negroes need not apply”.
Not to misunderstand, most of the religious groups who favored this sea-change do outstanding work. In fact, almost all of them have been doing it for years without tax dollars. Just like the religious and other groups who opposed it.
I’m with President Bush in thinking they could do even more. But whatever happened to the volunteer donors whose generosity has traditionally helped fund these organizations? Do all these champions of ’smaller government’ jump ship as soon as federal grants are on offer?
Although religious employers enjoy an exemption allowing them to apply religious tests when hiring for positions funded with their own money, the Constitution requires that direct receipt and administration of federal funds removes that exemption.
More than 60 years ago, one of the first successes of the modern civil rights movement was a decision by President Franklin Roosevelt to bar federal contractors from discriminating based on race, religion, or national origin. And, as of today, that’s still the law of the land.
As for tomorrow, I’m not so sure. The bill passed by the House now goes to the Senate. Let us hope that the Constitutional separation of church and state is not dead there too.

Child Protection Bills Lose, Yet You Still Can Do Something
I will not go into theological debate here, but I have always believed that if God had wanted me to have pockets or be covered He would have had those included when I was born. He gave us a skin for that. If He wanted me to be black or brown or white or yellow or red (none of which are natural colors I might add) He would have made me exactly how He wanted me. If he wanted me to be tattooed, those would have been included as well, and if He wanted me to have more holes in my body than I have, He would have included them as well. Heaven forbid, most of us leak out the holes we already have…
If you believe only in evolution, then evolution would have created all of those things as well. However God, nor evolution did that now did they?
As an adult, you have certain choices you can make in your life. If you choose to molest your body for whatever reason that is up to you. If you like some old man or woman to finger your private parts putting stain or piercing’s on them that too is up to you.
However getting a strange new haircut, that will grow out again, at least until you go bald, is one thing, a child has certain rights too you know. A child does not have the right to permanently harm or molest him or herself, allow themselves to be abused when so much abuse is already going on in our State. As adults they have plenty of time to decide if they want these things done.
Senate Majority Floor Leader Michael Sanchez, D-Belen, said it’s wrong to hold tattoo parlors responsible for enforcing communication that should already be taking place between a child and their parents.
Sen. Rod Adair, R-Roswell, the bill’s sponsor, said the law was necessary to give parents the ability to help their children make responsible decisions about tattoos and piercing’s. He is correct. Without his bill the parents are legally kept out of the loop regarding these life-changing decisions. Yet by law, a minor can not buy a cigarette, or liquor with or without parent permission.
Let me understand this. If A child skips school a lot, the parents pay the price, not the child. If a business sells liquor to a child, the business gets fined, it can’t sell liquor for a whopping single day - more on that in another article.
Yet, we can have some old man fingering and touching our children, piercing his or her body, including touching their genitals, rear ends, and other parts, including piercing and tattooing those genitals all without parents permission. Hello Michael Sanchez, are you working for the citizens of New Mexico or not? Is this just to stop a Republican bill?
Let’s see how this works: reintroduce a bill that says a minor can not have a tattoo or piercing without the presence of their parent or guardian. This is ridiculous. It is the responsibility of the tattoo parlor? You bet it is.
Do parents have something they can do? You bet. Until Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez decides to work with the republican bills, and vice versa, you as a parent can and should press charges with the prosecuting attorney’s office for and not including, because I am sure they come can up with other things, Child Endangerment, Child molestation, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Child Abuse, Sadism, and a list a mile long. You as a parent have these options. Since the tattoo or piercing is on the child, you have the evidence. Will a prosecutor prosecute? I’m betting if it were their child they would. So try it. This is a criminal offense even without the new law!
Tattoo parlors that would do this without a parent present shouldn’t be in business in the first place, and I am sure most in this City, would not do it without a parent present. Correct me if you are a parent and know differently.
It is the job of the Senate and the House to protect our children, not just on things they believe are correct, but in all matters. If tattoo parlors are doing this, and many are, then it is up to our representatives to stop it, and stop it cold.
If you are a responsible Tattoo Parlor or lawmaker make your voice heard, and write your representatives, e-mail them if nothing else, let the prosecutors judges and legislators know how you feel because the next victim could be your son or daughter, or grandchild.
If you are a prosecutor make it known that any molestation by a tattoo parlor will be dealt with extreme prejudice. We will work on the laws.

London Crime Works, announces the latest addition to its crime library “South of the River: Running On Empty” by Ben Gaunt. It is a contemporary urban crime thriller that is fast-paced and tough, with uncompromising dialogue and dark humour.
“I was born, raised, and still live in South London. Over the years I have had friends and been in situations on both sides of the law. This leaves me uniquely qualified to write about crime in the area that even the newspapers can’t report on,” states Ben Gaunt.
London Crime Works is independent publishing house for crime thrillers about London and its people. Unlike other publishers they aim to provide an authentic voice for crime writing for the Capital although the stories will have national and international appeal.
“Before signing with London Crime Works I received numerous rejection slips from other publishing companies because they felt that my stories were unrealistic.”
“They just could not comprehend that fact really is stranger than fiction. For instance, to me, there is nothing strange about two East End thugs taking a third on a bungee jumping trip to Blackfriars Bridge. It still doesn’t surprise me that the trip takes place in the early hours and the bungee cord is not attached to the ankle but to the neck of the “jumper”" continues Gaunt.
“South of the River: Running On Empty” true to its name and people, is set in the south London boroughs that border the Thames and the City of London itself.
The characters and situations are as diverse as the cultures that create contemporary street-life - the habits, customs and languauge, spoken and unspoken. If it is anything it is authentic.
South of the river can be a difficult and dangerous place to get into in more ways than one - just ask a taxi driver to take you there at three-forty seven in the morning! It can be unforgiving!
The London river’s got taste. There are things that even it wouldn’t swallow. Instead it spat it out at low water onto that level stretch of gravel and mud, hard by the Lambeth Embankment.
‘Ain’t whitey. Look at the skin. Blue. Blue … grey … black. Black man.
Dead black man. Blood. He’s blood.’
‘Betcha won’t look at his face.’
They put the sticks under the body, and heaved, and levered it over. The face … there was no face … there never is when the exit wound punches out that amount of bone and cartilage.
Invalided out of the army, ex-Platoon Sergeant Aidan Neary is a man increasingly at odds with the world, the more so when five hundred kilos of choice Colombian cocaine, destined for the streets of south London, goes missing. Guilty by association, for Neary it becomes a descent into a contemporary London underworld of fight clubs and women’s boxing, night time ‘ghost singers’ and new casinos, sweaty old men’s gyms and asceptic fitness centres, new London and old ‘Yard’. And foolishly, or otherwise, there seem to be just too many characters who simply want to get in his way in finding out the truth, or otherwise, of the drug shipment that never was!

Bush refuses to back down
Never known to back down from a fight, President
Bush is again demonstrating that same non-compromising stubbornness
in the John Bolton U.N. appointment fight.
All of this, even though some conservative senators don’t like Bolton
and along side the democrats, refuse to end the filibuster until the
Bush administration releases some secret documents. When asked what it
would take to end the filibuster, Trent Lott said “…simply for the
White House to release the documents requested.”
What is in these documents that makes the Bush administration so reluctant to release them?
Yesterday, White House spokesman Scott McClellan claimed that they have
released all of the information THAT THE SENATE REQUIRES.
“We’ve continued to make a good-faith effort. The Democrats clearly aren’t interested in more information,” McClellan said.
Hey
tool, that wasn’t the question. It isn’t up to you to decide what
is and what is not enough information. Not to mention, you have not supplied all of the requested information. Liar.
Turns out, President Bush may place Bolton as a recess
appointment, even though that would severely undermined the U.S.’s
position in the U.N. and further polarize the Senate. (Washington Post) Doesn’t matter, it’s what Karl, Dick and George want… damn what’s good for the country.
This unmitigated arrogance that President Bush continues to exhibit,
even in the light of obviously being wrong, should be a deep concern to every American.

Are Free Domain Names Worth the Cost?
Everyone likes a bargain. It’s even wise to keep one’s
costs down. On the other hand, you can be so cheap that
you cut your own throat.
Here are two ways to register a domain name for free and
some reasons why you might not want to.
1. You Must Have Your Own Top Level Domain (TLD) Name
Your business website should definitely have its own top
level domain (TLD) name. This means a name like
yourcompany.com. It doesn’t mean a subdomain of someone
else’s domain name, such as yourcompany.someisp.net.
Sometimes persons hesitate to register a proper domain name
because of cost, lack of knowledge, or indecision. However,
paying the nominal fee charged by the domain registrar for
your own domain name can reap rich dividends.
A Uniform Resource Locator (URL) or Internet address like
(ignoring the http part) someisp.net/hosting-accounts/yourco/,
or yourcompany.someisp.net, just doesn’t look as
professional as yourcompany.com. It might be
free (as in included with your web space) but it just
doesn’t cut it.
Consider: If you put your URL on your letterheads,
business cards, signs, et cetera, which Internet address
looks more professional?
If you mention your URL on your radio advertising or to a
customer over the phone, which one will be easier to
remember?
As well, what if your web host goes out of business or you
decide that you want to change to another provider. Now,
you need to notify everyone that you have now changed to
yourcompany.someotherisp.net. You will also need to change
all your stationery, signs, and advertising to reflect the
change.
On the other hand, the domain name yourcompany.com, could
be transferred from one web host to another simply by
informing your domain name registrar of the change.
So, to avoid losing business and incurring unnecessary
additional costs, be sure you have your own top level
domain name.
2. Should You Get a Free Top Level Domain?
It is possible to get a free top level domain from Dot TK
(@www.dot.tk). (You may also get paid dot tk (.tk) domains
from them.) However, there can be disadvantages to using
a free top level domain name.
Here are some of the restrictions noted on the Dot TK
website.
You may register no more than three free domain names.
The ownership of the free domain remains with Dot TK.
This means that you can’t sell it. (Of course, if you
pay for the domain you do own it and can transfer it to
a new owner.)
Also, if you don’t have 25 visitors come to your home
page within a ninety day period, your free domain name
registration is cancelled.
You need to have existing web content somewhere so that
your dot tk name can be forwarded to it.
There may well be other disadvantages.
Apparently, Dot TK uses frames to show your website. This
being the case, you may have issues with navigation
(bookmarking or finding specific pages) and search engine
friendliness.
Therefore, for serious business use, consider carefully
the true cost of free domain names.

Oversized Motorcycle Tires
What is the method behind the sizing of motorcycle tires? Why do certain motorcycles have certain tire sizes? Do the fatter tires you see on most bikes make the motorcycle handle better? How does one read the tire specification numbers on the tire sidewalls?
These are some of the basic questions I had when I first got into motorcycling. I will address each of these questions based on my research and personal experience.
There are numerous reasons why certain motorcycles have certain tires. As any sales person will tell you in their showroom, the intended use and desired performance of the motorcycle help determine the tire size. For example, most dual-purpose motorcycles like the BMW GS 1200 R and Kawasaki KLX 250 and KLR 650 will have tires suited for both off-road and street use. The KLX 250 tires will be more aggressive on the knobby side than the other dual-purpose motorcycles. Street bikes like the Kawasaki ZZR1200, will have a differently size tire than a touring and dual-purpose bike. Again, it all comes down to the intended use of the motorcycle.
When it comes to replacing the OEM stock tires, it is always wise to use a replacement tire with the same size as the stock tire for which you are replacing. The main reason for this is that the rims on your bike were designed to be outfitted with certain sized tires. Therefore, you need the correct size to fit on the stock rim.
Installing the correct size also implies that the tires have the same circumference. Having two different tire circumferences will have negative effects on your motorcycle’s tire grip and overall handling. Why is this so? A motorcycle’s rake and trail and the front and rear weight bias are affected by the ride height of the front and rear ride height. This is why tire circumference is important.
Recently with motorcycles like the Victory Hammer, you see more fat and wider tires being installed on motorcycles for both performance and style. Be sure the stock rim is designed to handle these wider tires. If you are installing a wider tire on a narrower rim for which it was not designed to handle, the footprint of the tire diminishes due to the profile being wrong. Another thing to be cautious of is that a wider tire may not have enough clearance once installed and rub against the fender or swing arm.
The bottom line is that the sizing of tires for certain motorcycles is determined by the factory motorcycle and tire engineers. They know their science well and know what works best on certain motorcycles. They have devised a numbering system which is used when replacing your tire. It is not a user-friendly numbering system but it makes sense to the tire manufacturers. For example a 100/80-18 tire means the 100 is the nominal width in millimeters. The 80 is the aspect ratio, and refers to the height of the tire as a percentage of the width (in this case 80 percent of 100mm). The 18 is the wheel’s diameter in inches for which the tire is designed to fit. So replace your tires based on what your manual says. Why risk putting on a different size tire just for looks at the risk of safety and performance.

Banishing Immigration Newspeak
For nearly thirty years, Michigan’s Lake Superior State
University has released an annual List of Banished Words, a brief
inventory of the year’s most annoyingly popular expressions, with
the recommendation they be “banished from the Queen’s English for
mis-use, over-use and general uselessness.”
This year, the tiresome “metrosexual” and the insufferable “bling
bling” were deservedly condemned, as were several war-inspired
entrants such as “embedded journalist” and “smoking gun.” I was
disappointed that none of my three choices for this annual
dishonor made the cut, however. My nominees for banishment were:
“Guest worker program,” “Matching willing workers with willing
employers,” and the worst offender, “Work Americans won’t do,” as
in “our economy needs illegal immigrants because they do work
Americans won’t do.”
Combined, these three Orwellian phrases are calculated to convey
the impression that there are certain occupations so inherently
dangerous or otherwise disagreeable that we lazy, self-indulgent,
American crybabies must rely on hardy immigrant stock to roll up
their sleeves and get the job done for us. Tell that to a
Pennsylvania coal miner!
Although it’s true that less glamorous jobs are frequently filled
by illegal aliens, the jobs themselves are not intrinsically
unacceptable. Rather, the ready supply of illegal labor has
resulted in many perfectly satisfactory jobs becoming
unacceptable. In short, illegal aliens will work under unsanitary
and unsafe conditions for minimum wage or even less, thereby
lowering standards, and as long as employers can fill jobs by
exploiting illegals, there will simply be no incentive to improve
wages or working conditions.
A recent piece by Nancy L. Othn and Mike Clary in the South
Florida Sun-Sentinel illustrates this principle in action with
the story of Gregorio Ruiz Aviles and Lauro Marquez Hernandez,
two young Mexican illegal alien construction workers crushed to
death in the collapse of a three-story building on which they
were working. Five other men were injured in the accident. The
Florida company which employed them was fined $2.4 million for
having no workers’ compensation insurance, but according to Othn
and Clary, “five months after the deaths of Ruiz and Marquez, few
public officials, employers, workers and immigrant advocates
express much hope that change would come soon in an industry
where undocumented workers willingly take any job they can get.”
Worse still, employers who play by the rules are easily underbid
by their unscrupulous rivals, and the downward pressure on wages
and safety intensifies. And this phenomenon is certain to worsen
– not lessen — under any program which would legalize the
process. Why? Because a “documented” worker is easier to deport,
and will therefore be more likely to do “work Americans won’t do”
to avoid unemployment and ineligibility. A guest worker program
will therefore simply institutionalize the current gray market
for employees who will tolerate the intolerable.
It’s a tenuous doctrine, that American workers are so expensive
that even American companies can’t afford them, and the plan to
extricate ourselves from this invented predicament by pinning our
hopes on the newly legendary Mexican work ethic is flimsier
still. And yet, there is some evidence that muddleheaded
Americans are being persuaded by the hypnotic repetition of
immigration Newspeak issuing from the White House, the Congress,
and the major news media. A February 2004 Gallup Poll found that
46% of Americans support President Bush’s plan to legalize
Mexican nationals currently living here illegally, “as long as
they hold jobs that no U.S. citizen wanted to do.”
George Orwell famously observed that political speech is
“designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and
to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” What else can be
said of a phrase such as “undocumented worker” which presupposes
the subject is working, and transmutes the violation of our
borders into an apparent paperwork mixup? Will we now refer to a
bank robbery as an “unauthorized withdrawal?” And what shall we
call the children of undocumented workers? Undocumented students?
Orwell forewarned us more than fifty years ago that sloppy
language begets foolish thinking — and vice versa — and it’s as
true today as ever. Purposely misleading expressions such as
“work Americans won’t do” are solid proof that big lies still fit
neatly into short phrases.
It’s time we banished them.

Going Bald for Men Can Be Stressful
Hair loss in males affects almost eight million in the UK, the most common type of hair loss is genetic male pattern hair loss. The loss of hair may begin as very young as twenty two and develop emotional distress.
Hair loss is typically genetic and will develop in boys as well as ladies. The hair loss seems due to the hair follicles on the head shrinking and the hair strands falling out and never regrowing. Baldness usually follows a balding pattern around the hair line and furthermore at the crown of your scalp.
Baldness is not a disease and does not directly affect your actual health, although your emotional health can become affected through the feeling of not being confident.
There are 3 sensational primary treatment methods for hair loss, Minoxidil, Finasteride and Strand by Strand from Advanced Hair Studio, aka AHS. The very first primary baldness treatment is a topical cream that is applied on the head and can be bought from hair loss clinics. The hair loss treatment Minoxidil works through reducing and slowing down the speed of hair loss, simply marvellous. The second treatment Finasteride works through stopping the conversion of the baldness hormone. The astonishing Strand by Strand hair restoration method from Advanced Hair Studio, also known as AHS, uses the most recent loss of hair technology and involves new hair regrowth growing on the head strand by strand over time. With both the Minoxidil and Finasteride treatments they need to be constantly used for the effects to work. Visit Advanced Hair Studio and get a free hair and scalp check.
